Steve Raichlen, author, world expert on char-grilling and the barbecue art will be at the Gasworks Art Park in Albert Park on Thursday, 7th February at 12.30 pm for a unique BBQ Degustation lunch.

This showcase of BBQ cuisine encapsulating our culture and unique style of chargrilling, will form part of Raichlen’s research for his new book and television show, Planet Barbeque – travels on the world’s barbecue trail.

He is the author of 28 books (which have been translated into 12 languages) and has also has the distinction of being one of very few to have defeated the Iron Chef Roksbura Michiba in a barbecue battle on Japanese television.

The five master grillers participating in the Degustation lunch are Stavros, renowned for his superb Greek char grilling Australian style and his famous Stavros Tavern; Julian Wu, who specialises in Asian cuisine; John Ryan, who travels the world entering BBQ competitions, Kerry Tait, winner of the 2006 annual Best Char Grill recipe competition sponsored by the Heat Beads Company, and Eve-Lynne Fairhall whose Beef Teriyaki wowed the judges in this year’s contest.
