Briquette sizes may vary slightly from bag to bag, due to the manufacturing process. As a guide, there are approximately 95 briquettes in a standard 4kg bag of Heat Beads® BBQ Briquettes.
This calculator is based around a WeberTM Kettle, not a grill BBQ and we recommend splitting the briquettes evenly between the two baskets/rails. Ash over time for Heat Beads® BBQ Briquettes can vary from 30-40 minutes, depending on weather conditions impacting the accuracy of times provided by the calculator.Please ensure the bird reaches an internal temp of 76-77ºC (170ºF) to guard against undercooking.
