Spitting Chips…
Do you enjoy a good spit roast for two people, or a feast for twenty? We have done some research for you and here are three options that could help you make the all-important decision!
You can see the Viking Spit in action at the Global Chargrill Showcase at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Amazingly, it has capacity to handle up to 20kg! This combined with its 304-grade stainless steel; three cooking grills and a powerful 240V fan cooled motor, ensures that it will easily be able to feed all the guests at your next party.
The Viking Spit is available for $AUS1199 from BBQ’s Galore.
If you are into your spit roasting but don’t need such a heavy duty unit, why not have a look at this little unit from Terry’s Spithouse?
We have to be honest that we have not tested Terry’s spit, so cannot recommend it ourselves but it is definitely worth checking out. This 600mm battery operated spit comes with a 240V motor and grill baskets. It can also be used as a char grill BBQ.
All of Terry’s units are made in Melbourne and you can pick up a complete kit from around $AUS300.
Finally the Heat Beads® Entertainer BBQ is another fabulous option, which triples as a spit rotisserie (it also grills and roasts)!
It is available from BBQ’s Galore stores in Richmond and Nunawading, and at our online store.
