What’s Australia Day without a BBQ?
BBQ has long been an Australian tradition, so what better way is there to patriotically celebrate our national day than to light up the BBQ? The Heat Beads® Team say there isn’t, of course!
Ok, so we may be a little biased but it is part of the great Australian way! Unlike those in some other nations, we tend not to openly display our patriotism throughout the year. As someone once said, ‘it is un-Australian to fly an Australian flag’. This, however, certainly does not mean that we are not extremely proud to be Australians! Here are some classic Australian dishes that are just the thing for char grilling over Heat Beads® BBQ Briquettes.
Char-grilled Scotch Fillet
Superbly cooked steak, a good drop of red or a cold beer – what could be better?
Chicken Parma
This is a classic Australian pub meal ready to cook in your own backyard!
Australia Day Lamb Chops
What is Australia Day without lamb? Un Australian according to Sam Kekovich’s annual Australia Day address to the nation…
Lamingtons
According to ‘The Complete Australian Barbecue Kettle Cookbook’ by Weber® you can char grill packet cake mixes! The perfect combination, lamb on the BBQ and one of Australia’s great desserts, lamingtons?!
On Saturday, January 24th 2009, Heat Beads® will support the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation when four well known Melbourne chefs, George Colombaris, Ian Curley, Michael Lambie and Dan Shanks celebrate the Australia Day Weekend with an international spin on classic Aussie dishes.
At this multicultural, star studded charity event with loads of entertainment and a fabulous silent auction, guests will be bidding for one of two Heat Beads® Entertainer BBQ’s, 25 4kg bags of HB’s and a BBQ accessory pack, donated by Heat Beads.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
